Power on. A pastel gradient wakes the mat.
Only at startup, the compact internal screen glows with a soft lemon-mint-lavender-peach gradient — a calm cue that the mat is ready. Once you start cutting, the pastels give way to high-contrast pattern lines.
Light fabric? Pattern lines are pure black.
In cutting mode with cream linen or muslin on the clear surface, the screen drops the color and shows crisp black outlines — high contrast that reads clearly through the weave.
Dark fabric? Lines flip to pure white.
Working with denim or wool? Tell the mat you're on a dark fabric and the projection switches to bright white outlines — no pastel tint, just the pattern.

The compact 20–22" screen covers roughly a quarter of the 2×4 ft mat. When you finish a section, slide it by hand along two rails — onboard sensors track the position and the next slice of your pattern snaps into place.

Lazy Light replaces cut-and-tape PDF pages with a true-to-size digital projection. During cutting the screen shows pure black lines on light fabric and pure white lines on dark fabric — the pastel gradient only appears on power-on as a calm "ready" cue.
